Jackson Healthcare Releases This Year's Annual Nurse's Survey
Some of the findings of the 2013 survey include:
83% of nurse practitioners and physician assistants surveyed will continue in their role as advanced practice providers through 2013
Of those, 40 percent plan to retire within the next 10 years and the majority (60 percent of nurse practitioners and 47 percent of physician assistants) plan to retire within the next 15 years
What Does 'Locum Tenens' Mean?
The term “locum tenens” is Latin for “to hold the place of.” When used today, it refers to providers who work at facilities on a temporary basis – anywhere from two weeks to ongoing, indefinite assignments – whether filling in for a full-time provider who is on vacation or leave,or providing a stop-gap measure while a facility recruits a permanent provider.
