Established physician-owned urgent care in South Orange County, California is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for approximately 22 weeks of maternity leave coverage.
This position is for an independent, solo provider in a fast-paced community urgent care. We are looking for an experienced clinician who is comfortable managing patients independently with physician support available at all times combo of in-person, phone, video)
Requirements:
Current California Physician Assistant license
Minimum 2 years of recent urgent care or emergency medicine experience (urgent care experience strongly preferred)
Comfortable functioning as the sole provider during scheduled shifts
Able to efficiently evaluate and treat 3–4 patients per hour
Strong pediatric experience, including antibiotic prescribing and weight-based medication dosing
Comfortable managing common urgent care complaints in both children and adults
Able to independently interpret plain radiographs and recognize common fractures and urgent findings
Experience performing common urgent care procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, abscess management, foreign body removal, and wound care
Confident with evidence-based prescribing and independent clinical decision-making
Excellent bedside manner and strong documentation skills

Approximately 22-week assignment to cover maternity leave

We are seeking a reliable, experienced clinician who can step into an established practice with minimal training and provide high-quality, efficient patient care.
Only candidates with recent independent urgent care or emergency medicine experience will be considered. New graduates and candidates requiring extensive on-site training are not a good fit for this assignment.
