Position Overview
A busy high-acuity urgent care clinic in Ocala, FL is seeking an experienced NP or PA to provide independent coverage. This role offers consistent shifts, a supportive staff, and the opportunity for temp-to-perm transition if a good fit.
Schedule & Coverage
12 shifts per month required
12-hour shifts, including every other Saturday (9a–9p)
Must be available to cover Thanksgiving (and possibly one additional holiday)
Schedule: 3x12s weekly
Local candidates preferred, but travel considered
Work Details
Patients per day: 35–40 (increasing to 50–55 during peak season; higher acuity included)
Patient population: Pediatrics through adults (majority 50+)
Transfers: ~1% to ER
Support staff: MAs, X-ray tech, front desk, splinting support, on-call access to PA owner & Medical Director
Department: 10 exam rooms (4 typically in use)
Procedures: Must manage urgent care/ER-level presentations, read own labs, X-rays, and EKGs
EMR: Codonix (simple and efficient)
Requirements
Board Certification: Required
Experience: Minimum 1 year of ER or high-acuity urgent care experience
License: Active Florida license required
Certifications: BLS
