The facility serves patients requiring both routine medical care and management of complex chronic conditions within the correctional healthcare framework.
The facility is located about one hour from Seattle, WA. The Pacific Northwest region offers outdoor activities including hiking at Mt. Baker, kayaking, and whale watching opportunities in the San Juan Islands. The area features biking trails, whitewater rafting, wildlife viewing, and wine tasting experiences. Visitors can participate in food festivals, live music events, and local traditions throughout the year.
The clinician will provide comprehensive family medicine services to adult patients in a correctional facility setting, managing 8-16 patients daily Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with no call requirements. Clinical responsibilities include treating injuries, acute illnesses, conducting follow-ups, performing physicals, managing corrections-related healthcare needs, providing urgent care services, treating complicated chronic care patients, and performing minor procedures. The position requires Internal Medicine or Family Medicine board certification, BLS certification, Washington state licensure, and DEA registration with preference for clinicians comfortable with sutures and injections and previous corrections experience.
