This correctional facility provides outpatient primary care services to an adult male population in a secure clinical environment in Washington state. The facility operates with established protocols suited to corrections-based healthcare delivery and is supported by on-site medical assistants, physicians, and nurse practitioners. Credentialing for this position is estimated at 1-2 weeks.
Washington state offers a range of regional attractions and outdoor recreation opportunities throughout its diverse landscape. The area features access to Puget Sound for marine and water activities, as well as surrounding mountain ranges that provide opportunities for hiking, skiing, and camping. Clinicians on assignment will find year-round activities spanning coastal areas, mountain ranges, and forested regions suited to varied interests.
Clinicians will provide outpatient primary care services to adult patients in a correctional facility setting, working four 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to negotiate a five 8-hour shift schedule. The expected caseload is 8-15 patients per day, with clinical responsibilities encompassing injury management, acute illness treatment, follow-up visits, physicals, complicated chronic care management, urgent care, and minor procedures such as toenail removal, small joint injections, and incision and drainage. Required credentials include an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine board certification (negotiable), BLS, Washington state license, DEA registration, and prescriptive authority. On-site support staff includes medical assistants, physicians, and nurse practitioners.
