This correctional facility provides outpatient primary care services to adult patients in a secure government clinical environment in Alaska. The facility operates with established protocols suited to corrections-based healthcare delivery and maintains on-site support staff - including an NP, nursing staff, and nurse supervisors - to ensure clinicians do not work alone at any time. Credentialing for this position is estimated at approximately one week.
Alaska offers a range of outdoor recreation opportunities and regional attractions suited to varied interests. The state provides access to diverse natural environments, with options including wilderness activities, guided excursions, wildlife viewing, and water-based recreation. Clinicians on assignment will find year-round regional activities available throughout the area.
Clinicians will provide outpatient primary care services to adult patients in a correctional facility setting, working four 10-hour day shifts per week on a Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday schedule, with flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The expected caseload is 8-12 patients per day, with additional responsibilities including the review of outside medical records and laboratory results. No call coverage is required for this position. Required credentials include an active Alaska license, DEA registration, a clear background check, and prescriptive authority; board certification is negotiable.
