We are seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity at a well-established outpatient family health center in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with no call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on providing high-quality patient care in a supportive clinical environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP looking for a long-term locum assignment with an immediate start.
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in an outpatient setting.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
Perform routine physical examinations and preventive health screenings.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory and diagnostic test results.
Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness, and treatment plans.
Accurately document patient encounters using the NextGen EMR system.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
Maintain compliance with facility policies and clinical best practices.
Qualifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license (New Mexico license preferred or eligible).
Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
Current DEA registration (if applicable).
BLS Certification.
Previous outpatient primary care or family medicine experience preferred.
Comfortable managing approximately 23 patients per day.
Experience with NextGen EMR is preferred but not required.
Working Hours
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday–Friday (daytime clinic hours)
Coverage Type: No Call
Practice Setting: Outpatient Family Health Center
Patient Volume: Approximately 23 patients per shift
No hospital privileges required
No admissions or rounding responsibilities
