TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity with a community health department in Clinton, North Carolina. This position provides comprehensive outpatient care across Family Planning, Maternal Health, Adult Health, STD services, and other community health programs.

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
Obtain comprehensive medical, social, menstrual, and contraceptive histories
Perform physical and pelvic examinations as appropriate to patient needs
Develop and document treatment plans
Prescribe medications and treatments within approved scope of practice
Provide contraception counseling and management, including oral contraceptives, Depo-Provera, injections, implants, and barrier methods
Perform smears, cultures, and other appropriate clinical testing
Provide anemia treatment and follow-up
Counsel patients regarding health maintenance, preventive care, treatment, and disease prevention
Provide referrals when additional evaluation or treatment is needed
Manage patients according to applicable state guidelines and clinical protocols
Areas of Practice
Family Planning
Provide comprehensive reproductive and contraceptive care for patients from age 12 through menopause
Perform examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and provide counseling and education
Adult Health & BCCCP
Conduct health assessments, physical examinations, treatment, and referrals
Work collaboratively with the medical director regarding abnormal findings
STD Services
Provide patient history, examination, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and prevention education
Treat STDs identified through other health department programs and coordinate referrals as needed
Maternal Health
Support supervision of maternal health staff
Provide examinations, laboratory services, prenatal and postpartum education, and management of low-risk pregnancies
Identify high-risk or complicated pregnancies and coordinate appropriate referrals
Other Community Health Services
Diagnose and treat conditions such as pediculosis, scabies, and ringworm
Perform work and sports physicals
Provide examinations, treatment, and referrals as appropriate
Additional Responsibilities
Serve as a clinical advisor and preceptor to public health nursing staff
Assist with staff orientation and continuing education workshops, seminars, and in-services
Participate in patient care review and audit committees
Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for public health nurses
Participate in community health presentations and educational activities
Assist with emergency/disaster shelter duties and public health preparedness and response activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Graduate of an accredited program appropriate to the respective professional license
Minimum of one year of practitioner experience
Current North Carolina licensure appropriate to the provider's discipline
Appropriate certification and authorization to practice within North Carolina
Current prescribing authority appropriate to scope of practice
Valid North Carolina driver's license
