This correctional facility provides primary care services to adult patients in a secure clinical environment in Virginia. The facility operates with established protocols suited to corrections-based healthcare delivery and is supported by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Clinical workflows are structured to address the primary and chronic care needs of the patient population served.
Virginia offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and nature-based activities suited to varied interests. The state features opportunities for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and birding, along with regional parks and recreational destinations. Those on assignment will find year-round recreational and cultural activities available throughout the state during time away from assignment.
The nurse practitioner will provide clinic-based primary care services to adult patients in a correctional facility setting in Virginia, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the potential to work four 10-hour shifts. The expected caseload is approximately 18-20 patients per day, with clinical responsibilities encompassing patient evaluations, chronic disease management, and acute illness treatment. No call coverage is required for this assignment. Required credentials include a Virginia nursing license, DEA registration, prescriptive authority, and board certification (negotiable); credentialing is estimated at two weeks.
