This state hospital provides primary care services to adult psychiatric patients within a structured clinical environment. The facility maintains a full complement of interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatric staff and other primary care clinicians, to support daily clinical operations. Clinical workflows are designed to facilitate coordinated care delivery across medical and psychiatric disciplines.
The area anchors the Historic Triangle and is home to Colonial Williamsburg, a living history museum spanning 301 acres that preserves the colonial capital of Virginia through original 18th-century buildings, working trades, and costumed interpreters. Clinicians on assignment will also find access to Busch Gardens, a theme park set across wooded hills along the James River featuring a notable lineup of roller coasters. Outdoor recreation options include cycling the 23-mile Colonial Parkway, which runs through protected forest with no commercial development along its route, offering a range of activities suited to varied interests.
Clinicians will provide clinic-based primary care services to adult psychiatric patients at a state hospital, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; alternate schedules are not permitted. The expected caseload is 8-16 patients per day, with clinical responsibilities focused on the evaluation and management of medical conditions for an adult psychiatric population. No call coverage is required for this assignment. Required credentials include board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (negotiable), an active state license, a minimum of 3 years of practitioner experience, autonomous practice required for NP, and prescriptive authority; credentialing is estimated at 2-3 weeks.
Our services are 100% free for clinicians and are designed for a seamless experience with every assignment:
