✅ Qualifications
✔️ Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree)
✔️ Active Louisiana RN License required
✔️ Current BLS Certification required
✔️ Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
✔️ Proficient in telemetry monitoring, neurological assessments, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, suctioning, IV medication administration, and management of non-titratable IV drips
✔️ Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
✅ Key Responsibilities
✔️ Perform frequent neurological assessments, including GCS scoring, pupil checks, motor strength, sensation, and coordination evaluations
✔️ Care for patients with stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, brain tumors, head trauma, and stable post-neurosurgical conditions
✔️ Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to arrhythmias or changes in patient condition
✔️ Administer medications, IV fluids, anticoagulants, anti-epileptics, and antihypertensives as ordered
✔️ Provide post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy care for patients transitioning from ICU-level care
✔️ Assist with ADLs while maintaining fall prevention and patient safety measures
✔️ Educate patients and families on stroke prevention, medications, rehabilitation, and discharge planning
✔️ Recognize neurological deterioration and escalate care appropriately
✔️ Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient education
