Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) within the Department of Health and Human Services in New Hampshire, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients in a clinical setting. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough physical assessments, including psychiatric or admission assessments, to gather relevant patient information and establish a baseline for care.
Administering medications as prescribed by healthcare providers and ensuring accurate documentation of medication administration.

Processing physician orders promptly and accurately to facilitate timely patient care interventions.

Monitoring and recording vital signs to track patient health status and detect any changes or abnormalities.

Performing blood glucose level testing as part of routine patient monitoring and diabetes management protocols.
Completing prescribed treatments and procedures following established protocols and guidelines.

Conducting comprehensive pain assessments to evaluate and manage patients' pain levels effectively.
Changing dressings and performing wound care as necessary to promote healing and prevent infections.

Providing venipuncture services for blood collection as needed for diagnostic testing and monitoring purposes.

Managing the milieu within the healthcare environment to ensure a safe and therapeutic atmosphere for patients and staff.

Utilizing the electronic health record (EHR) systems of NHH and Glencliff to access clinical information, document patient care activities accurately, and maintain patient records securely.

Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with healthcare team members to report patient-related findings, collaborate on care plans, and ensure continuity of care.

This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with established standards and regulations.
