Job description

• Assessing patients' physical and psychological status before surgery.
• Reviewing patients' medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Educating patients and their families about the surgical process and what to expect.
• Assisting the surgical team by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Monitoring patients' vital signs, anesthesia administration, and patient positioning.
• Ensuring a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members during surgery.
• Anticipating and responding to potential complications or emergencies.
• Monitoring patients' recovery from anesthesia and surgery.
• Assessing patients' pain levels and managing postoperative pain.
• Providing wound care and ensuring proper healing.
• Educating patients on postoperative care instructions and home recovery.
• Accurately documenting all patient information, interventions, and outcomes.
• Maintaining complete and organized patient records.
• Ensuring patient safety through the implementation of infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Advocating for patients' needs and concerns within the surgical team.
• Checking and preparing surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Collaborating with the sterile processing department to ensure availability of sterile items.
• Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicating effectively within the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.

  • • Valid registered nurse (RN) license
  • • Previous experience in perioperative nursing or operating room settings
  • • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
