Short-Term: The Health Director will need to be a licensed physician, NP, PA, RN, LPN, or certified EMT in NYS. The health director will be responsible for meeting with families and students on the first day of camp to discuss any medical/medication needs and will handle distribution of prescription medications as needed during camp. You will be our first point of contact for any health-related issues throughout camp and will be responsible for meeting with families/students at the end of camp to return any prescription medications and discuss any health-related incidents. While you will need to be onsite, it will be possible to continue working remotely from campus while acting as our health director.
You will live on campus with us from June 25th-July 8th. Partial dates are also possible. We will be in the dorms at the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson, room and board will be provided, and we have a small budget for salary. This is our 14th year, we host 15-20 students ages 12-19 each summer. The students are always amazing, and a lot of fun, and the staff is great. They are playing music all morning and then performing or enjoying outdoor activities in the afternoons.
Lyra Music is a small non-profit recovering from the pandemic. Our summer program is an audition-based music camp open to advanced teenage classical musicians. We provide an intensive, yet nurturing music camp focused on achieving the highest standards of development through encouragement rather than competition; and working with the whole individual through music education. We maintain an unusually low staff to student ratio, and love the family-like, supportive atmosphere that results from a small student body. During this 2-week, conservatory-style program, students focus on performance technique through the unique experience of performing multiple times each week in a variety of settings. Along with high level classical music training, Lyra offers daily recreational activities, evening social activities, and fun
