Salary: USD $193,000 - $197,000 / yr.

This Assistant Nurse Manager position for Labor & Delivery (night shift) is ideal for someone passionate about advancing care in maternal child health and ready to take on a supervisory role in a high-paced environment.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Nurse Manager will support daily operations and staff development in the Labor & Delivery unit. You'll oversee clinical care standards, assist in the implementation of best practices, guide emergency response readiness, manage patient concerns, and ensure quality care delivery across shifts. This role plays a pivotal part in coaching nursing staff and aligning care delivery with clinical, operational, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervising nursing staff in the L&D unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Supporting interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize outcomes.
Coaching and mentoring staff; recommending professional development plans.
Overseeing daily operations, resource allocation, and staff schedules.
Supporting regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitoring safety standards, utilization, and performance metrics.
Participating in audit preparation, emergency preparedness, and accreditation readiness.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active California Registered Nurse License
BLS Certification
NRP Certification
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery
At least 1 year of leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Educator)
Preferred:
Experience working in a Magnet-designated facility
Prior union environment experience
Familiarity with quality and safety initiatives
BSN or working toward one
Experience with The Joint Commission compliance
Skills Required:
Leadership and staff supervision in clinical settings
Understanding of evidence-based practices in maternal-child care
Competence in regulatory compliance and patient safety protocols
