Driscoll Children’s Hospital seeks a full time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our busy pediatric Craniofacial & Plastics surgery as well as our Dermatology clinics. Position is open to recent graduates from Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner schooling. Texas license must be completed before starting. No experience necessary, however, preferred. Candidate must be passionate about working alongside physicians and other mid-level providers. Position is split between Pediatric Dermatology and Craniofacial and Plastic surgery clinics. On the job training provided.
The APP is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of pediatric patients. Care is provided in both inpatient and outpatient areas. The APP collects documents and analyzes patient data, and when necessary, collaborates in the development and implementation of testing and treatment protocols. The APP will also assist and/or perform dermatologic and surgical office procedures and injections under the direction of the physician.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
