Facility:
This is a leading pediatric hospital providing specialized care for children across West Texas and eastern New Mexico. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a Level 1 Pediatric designation, offering a comprehensive range of pediatric surgical services with strong unit and provider support.
Opportunity:
Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner - Pediatrics
Job Details:
- Provide inpatient pediatric surgery coverage with 15-20 patient encounters per shift
- Shifts are structured as 7am-7pm (inhouse) or 7pm-7am (night beeper call, must be within 10 minutes of the hospital)
- Weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call required
- Providers MUST be willing to work nights and weekends
- Minimum of 3-4 shifts per week required, with full-time coverage also considered
- Guaranteed 12 hours per day with overtime applying after 12 hours per day
- Patient population is pediatric only - providers will not be seeing adults (maximum patient age 16-17 years old)
- When on call, provider must arrive within 10 minutes from the hotel; a call room is available onsite
- Active Texas license required - licensed in TX only
- Board certification required (BC only)
- DEA required
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
- Clean NPDB, clean malpractice history, and clean background check required for emergency credentialing
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 45 days; emergency credentialing available for clean files with potential start date in August
- A Teams interview will be conducted for each candidate
